The Arrivals Free Community Event is part of Light + Flight project Arrivals – Animating the Stories of Grahame Park, a ten-month community heritage project led by Colindale Communities Trust which highlights the story of the Hendon Aerodrome, and the Grahame Park estate which is built on its footprint, as a place of arrivals and journeys. Leaning into the area’s aviation heritage, it animates the diverse journeys of communities coming to the estate.
This programme is developed in partnership with the London Borough of Barnet, Colindale Communities Trust, and Notting Hill Genesis.
About Colindale Communities Trust
The Colindale Communities Trust is a charity committed to developing sustainable services and projects that improve the economic and social wellbeing of people who live in and around Colindale. They work together with local people and a range of partners to support and empower the local community. They also manage two community venues at the heart of Grahame Park and offer a range of projects in education, youth provision, over 55s / older people provision, and arts and heritage-based community projects.
Light + Flight is presented by Art in Barnet. It is funded by a Cultural Impact Award, part of the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture programme, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and Arts Council England.
Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. The Community Heritage Grants are made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
