From Barnet with Love invites the people of Barnet to tell the story of where they live – one postcard at a time.
Inspired by the borough’s role in the UK’s first official airmail service and a rich history of written messages, residents of all ages are encouraged to share memories, hopes, and everyday moments about their neighbourhoods through creative workshops and storytelling sessions.
Using drawing, collage, and words, participants will create postcards that travel across the borough, connecting strangers and neighbours through shared experience.
Each card becomes a small piece of living history: a snapshot of Barnet today. This project is in collaboration with the RAF Museum, and will be celebrated in an exhibition at the Museum, bringing past and present into conversation.
By exchanging stories between communities and generations, From Barnet with Love transforms communication into connection – revealing the many voices, memories, and identities that make Barnet home.
"I am so excited to meet the communities of Barnet, explore your neighbourhoods and hear your stories. The RAF Museum and Barnet Local Studies Archive also promise to hold some treasures which I can’t wait to share with the borough."
